The Austin Climate Protection Program (ACPP) is working to improve Austin's quality of life by reducing our carbon footprint and improving the breathability of our air. We are achieving these goals by offering tools and programs to help community members reduce their environmental impact.

One of these tools is the Austin-specific carbon footprint calculator, which allows residents to determine the amount of greenhouse gases produced through their daily activities. Determining this impact is the first step in reducing Austin's carbon footprint. Along with tools to assist in personal carbon reductions, ACPP is also working with community stakeholders to engage citizens in conversations about climate change as well as identifying other carbon, ozone, and Urban Heat Island effect reduction opportunities in Austin.
